HONOR Magic5 Series & Magic Vs Goes Global – Available in Q2 2023

HONOR unveiled its new human-centric approach to technology by announcing three flagship devices; HONOR Magic5, Magic5 Pro, and HONOR’s first foldable to release out of the China market the HONOR Magic Vs.

“Committed to addressing the real needs of customers, HONOR adopts a human-centric approach to product innovation, offering intuitive technology solutions to improve the daily lives of everyone. “The HONOR Magic5 Pro, our latest flagship all-rounder, and the HONOR Magic Vs, our first foldable flagship to be launched in the global market, push industry benchmarks in every aspect of smartphone user experience, in line with our visions to enable a smarter life for everyone.” said George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co, Ltd.

HONOR Magic5 Pro

The HONOR Magic5 series is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5x memory and half-terabyte UFS 4.0 storage.

The duo shared a pretty similar design language with a triple rear camera setup and a high screen-body ratio of over 90%. The Pro gets a pill shape hole punch cutout that houses a 12-megapixels f/2.4 front selfie camera assisted by a ToF 3D camera while the vanilla has a center hole-punch single 12-megapixels f/2.4 camera.

The Magic5 Pro is equipped with a more advanced 6.81-inch 2K 120Hz LTPO OLED display. The panel supports HDR10+ and has a high peak brightness of 1,800 nits. While the non-Pro gets a slightly smaller but capable, 6.73-inch 2K 120Hz OLED display that also supports HDR10+ and pushes up to 1,600 nit peak brightness.

The Magic5 has a 54MP f/1.9 primary camera, 32MP f/2.4 2.4x telephoto, and the same 50MP f/2.0 ultrawide with autofocus capability.

Packed with a 5,100 mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charging and the Pro variant features 50W wireless fast charging and 10W wireless reverse charging.

HONOR Magic Vs

Coming to the HONOR Magic Vs, it is the same as the one that HONOR announced in China back in November last year. Powered by last year’s Qualcomm flagship, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. Sports a 6.45-inch 120Hz Cover Display for use while the device is folded and unfolded you will get a large 7.9-inch 90Hz main display. The external display is able to output up to 1,200 nits peak brightness while the inner 800 nits. The HONOR Magic Vs get stylus support, similar to the S Pen that we’ve seen with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4.

Feature triple rear camera setup; a 54MP primary camera, 50MP ultrawide with autofocus, and an 8MP 3x telephoto.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 66W wired fast charge.
