Xiaomi has officially announced a new variant of Redmi Note 3 that currently powered by MediaTek Helio X10 and the new Redmi Note 3 powered with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 650.
This variant could be the answer for Xiaomi to announce it as the international variant. The new Redmi Note 3 is the first smartphone to introduce Snapdragon 650, Hexa-core CPU, Adreno 510 GPU and supported LTE Cat 7 that supported VoLTE (Voice over LTE).
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 that powered the Redmi Note 3 able to score almot 78,000 points beat the Snapdragon 808, MediaTek Helio X10 and on par with some Snapdragon 810 smartphone.
There are no different in term of exterior which sharing the same unibody metal design with fingerprint sensor on the rear. Aside the different of CPU, the Qualcomm variant get a 16 megapixel rear camera and a slightly bigger battery capacity of 4,050mAh.
The 16 megapixel rear camera feature PDAF that about to lock focus at 0.1 second dual-tone LEDs flash. It has a 5 megapixel front facing camera for selfie photo taking and video calls.
Just like the MediaTek variant, it comes with 2GB of RAM with 16GB internal storage and 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. The 2GB RAM / 16GB is priced at RMB 999 (approx RM 659) and 3GB RAM / 32GB yet to announce.
The current MediaTek variant is only available in China and the Qualcomm variant will be available tomorrow, 17th January 2016 in China. The Qualcomm variant probably will be the answer for international version due to certain countries restriction on MediaTek chips.
