As mentioned last Thursday, Xiaomi is announcing a new smartphone today, Mi4c. This is Xiaomi’s first smartphone that uses USB Type-C and was surprised to know that it supported Quick Charging that OnePlus Two lacking off. Basically it has a quick similar outlook with the current Mi4i and as well the colors options.
As rumored, Mi4c are powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 64-bit Hexa-core SoC, coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It sport a 5-inch Full HD sunlight display.
It has a fast focus, 13 megapixel SONY IMX258/Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor rear camera feature PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) which claimed able to lock focus by 0.1 seconds.
For selfie department, it featured a 5 megapixel wide-angle lens camera.
It has a large battery capacity of 3,080mAh for a 5-inch display smartphone.
It also supported 4G dual SIM dual standy (DSDS). Both are micro SIM.
As mentioned Mi4c uses USB Type-C reversible connector and supported Quick Charge 2.0.
An USB Type-C adapter is available optional for RMB 5 (that’s about RM 3.40)
Built-in infrared remote that supports 2,000 plus appliances from TV, DVD, Fan, Air Conditioner and etc.
On software wise, it will be running on MIUI 6 out of box and MIUI 7 update coming in a few weeks after.
Same like the Mi4i you can wake screen by double taps on standby screen
Mi4c also introduced a new feature; Edge Tap. Both side of Mi4c respond to light taps for instant; single tap to snap photo in Camera and double tap to go back.
The Mi4c available in Cool White, Grey, Pink, Yellow and Blue colors.
It will be available in China or RMB 1,299 (US$ 204, that’s about RM 873) for 2GB RAM / 16GB storage variants and RMB 1,499 (US$ 235, that’s about RM 1,007) for 3GB RAM / 32GB storage variant.
No word when it will be available out of China but it’s a good spec in sheet and worth to explore this smartphone when it’s available.
