Xiaomi Mi 9T Officially Announced – Redmi K20 for Global Market

Yesterday Xiaomi held an event in Paris announcing theirs third Mi 9-series smartphone, the Mi 9T. Basically, the Mi 9T is the Redmi K20 for the global market. There are no changes in term of hardware except the branding used on the rear where the Mi 9T has the Mi logo. On their official website, the Mi 9T specification is routed me to Redmi K20 specs.

The Mi 9T sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and embedded fingerprint scanner beneath the screen. The display is clean without any notch or hole punch. Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 coupled up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

It has a 20-megapixels pop-up front camera with f/2.2 aperture and capable to shoot 1,080p@30fps.

On the rear are triple lens; 48-megapixels f/1.75 aperture main sensor, an 8-megapixels telephoto and a 13-megapixels 124.8° ultra-wide angle. It can shoot up to 4K@30fps and 1,080p@960fps Super Slow Motion.

Juicing the device is a 4,000 mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 @ 18W. It will be running on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie.

Looks like we will not be getting the “Pro” variants which totally make sense as Xiaomi already got the Mi 9 that powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855.

Xiaomi Malaysia will be launching the Mi 9T on 20th June 2019 and will be unveiling the configuration that we will be getting and the price. Do stay tuned as we will be covering the event of the Xiaomi Mi 9T launch.
