The Xiaomi Mi 5 has finally unveiled it price for Malaysia market. It’s good and bad. Why?
Good it’s finally available in Malaysia and you can own one of the best flagship smartphone in market yet will not burn a hole in your pocket but on the others hand it’s more expensive compare to global prices. Example; China (RMB 1,999 = about RM 1,245) and India (22,000 Rupee = about RM 1,340)
Malaysia is selling it at RM 1,549 and that is about 17% higher which including GST.
This explained why it’s more expensive;
Xiaomi is not selling the Mi 5 directly to end-user like it others smartphone instead it went for Malaysia’s local distributor, Thorus. When Xiaomi decided to let the local distributor to manage this smartphone, of course they will get a certain percentage of profit and same goes to the resellers. Naturally the price is jacked up higher.
Albeit with higher price tag, the Xiaomi Mi 5 price is consider good for its specs. A flagship SoC, great performance hardware and importantly the warranty is covered by Xiaomi Malaysia
