Yesterday, Taiwan media reported that MediaTek is coming up a flagship chipset which been told to be the World’s First 10-cores mobile CPU,  code name; Helio X20.

The chipset MT6797 reported offers 40% performance improvement compare with previous generation Helio X10 with the combination of Dual Cortex A72 (2.5GHz clocks) + Quad Cortex A53 (2.0GHz clocks) + Quad Cortex A53 (1.4GHz).

This powerful chipset claim to score above 70,000 points in AnTuTU benchmarks

The Helio X20 will be using “Tri-cluster” CPU architecture which will balance the performance and battery efficiency.

The new CPU chipset will be on 20nm process and supports LTE-A / Cat. 6 networks.

This chip will most likely go into mass production by July this year. Will be expecting more flagship device to have this chipset.

Beside the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and Samsung Exynos 7420, we will be seeing MediaTek in the ring of flagship competition.
