Any big fans of Star Wars here? Sorry this is temporary available for iOS users only. Apple has actually added support for a Vulcan salute emoji in iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3 but the symbol isn’t in the emoji section of the iOS keyboard. The trick here is to adding it in manually in to your device. First thing first. You need to update your iPhone or iPad to the latest iOS version 8.3. If haven’t, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
- This is how to add Vulcan salute emoji: 1. Copy the emoji from this tweet on your iPhone or iPad. Make a long press on the icon and select Copy.
- Go to Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Shortcut -> +
- Double tap next to the phrase to bring up the edit menu and Paste to insert the symbol
- Enter your shortcut of choice (example llap)
- Then Save
Now you will be able to type your shortcut of Vulcan salute emoji on your iPhone or iPad.
Peace and long life! 🖖
