Taiwan Banned Three HUAWEI Phones – Nothing to do with Spying

Taiwan has halted the sale of three HUAWEI phones; the HUAWEI P30, P30 Pro and nova 5T. This decision was made by Taiwan’s National Communication Commission (NCC) for listing Taiwan to the state as Taiwan, China in their Operating System’s timezones and contacts.

The labelling in these phones does not reflect the facts and has even hurt the dignity of our country,” the NCC said in a statement, adding that the commission had “taken strict measures to maintain national dignity“.

Although Taiwan is recognized as the Republic of China, but they do not recognize and find it as an insult. On another hand, Taiwan has its own constitution, armed forces and a president elected by the people.

The ban will not be uplift until HUAWEI tweak their operating system.
