SONY has introduced a new camera centric smartphone Xperia M5 & M5 Dual. The different between M5 and M5 Dual is only SIM support where M5 Dual support dual SIM. It powered with MediaTek MT6795 (same SoC with HTC M9+) 64-bit octa-core clocked at 2.0 GHz and paired with 3GB of RAM. M5 sports a 5-inch Full HD display and has internal storage of 16GB with expandable memory via microSD card.
The main highlight of this smartphone is the camera and IP rating. On the rear sat a 21.5 megapixels camera that features Hybrid Autofocus, 5x clear image zoom, auto scene recognition and 4K video recording.
Hybrid Autofocus combines two technologies for fast autofocus, Phase detection AF for quick response and Contrast detection AF for added precision. The auto scene recognition has 52 scenarios and automatically adjust the settings that help to boost richer colour gourmet photos.
It has a 13 megapixels selfies camera that take HDR shot and with Exmor RS technology it capable to shot sharp, vivid colours and low noise photos.
The M5 has rated IP65/68 military rating that resist dust and water (splashed and submersion)
It has a battery of 2,600 mAh and can last up to 2 days baterry life in STAMINA mode.
No words on pricing and availability here in Malaysia. I believe it wouldn’t be that soon as the SONY Xperia M4 has only reached us here in Malaysia last month.
