Besides unveiling the new Foldable smartphones, Samsung also announced the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series which now runs on WearOS and the new Galaxy Buds2.
Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series
There are two watches released; Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic. Instead of running its proprietary TizenOS, the new watch runs on OneUI Watch 3 which is based on WearOS and it’s co-developed with Google. With the new OS, it gets to tap into an expansive ecosystem like Google Play Store which supports for leading third-party apps like adidas Running, Calm, Strava and Spotify.
Powered by Exynos W920 Dual-core 1.18Ghz 5nm processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The new chipset offers a 20% faster CPU and 10x faster GPU compared to the previous generation.
Features Samsung BioActive Sensor (Optical Heart Rate + Electrical Heart + Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor and Light Sensor.
The Galaxy Watch4 uses an Aluminium case that offers two display sizes; 40mm (1.2″ 396 x 396 resolution) and 44mm (1.4″ 450 x 450 resolution) AMOLED display. As for the Galaxy Watch4 Classis, it uses a Stainless Steel case instead and also two display size options; 46mm (1.2″ 396 x 396 resolution) and 46mm (1.4″ 450 x 450 resolution) AMOLED display. The glass is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass DX.
Packed with 361mAh battery for 44mm/46mm variants and 247mAh battery for 40mm/42mm that can offers about 2 days of usage with just a single charge. The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classis are offered with the starting price of US$ 249 (~RM 1,054) and US$ 349 (~RM 1,477) respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Buds2
Samsung Galaxy Buds2 is their latest True Wireless Stereo earbuds, featuring Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and offers up to 29 hours of battery life.
The new earbud is an in-ear design with passive noise cancelling plus the ANC, Samsung claimed this earbuds can filter up to 98% external noise. There’s also 3 levels of Ambient mode for you to hear the surrounding without the need to take off the earbuds. The company emphasized the new earbuds offer a much higher audio resolution and use a dual-drivers setup; an 11mm tweeter and 6.5mm woofer.
Of course, it gets IPX7 rated for water and sweat resistance. The earbuds can operate up to 5 hours and an additional 24 hours with the case, which is based on ANC off.
The Galaxy Buds get the same White colour case while the internal and the earbuds offer four different pastel colours including; White, Graphite, Olive and Lavender. Its offers at US$ 149 (~RM 631)
Both the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series and Galaxy Buds2 will be available very soon here in Malaysia.
