Samsung Display Introduces First Mirror and Transparent OLED Display Panel

Samsung Display Co. Ltd. has unveiled its mirror and transparent OLED display in Retail Asia Expo 2015 in Hong Kong.

The event showcased the screens as ad billboards and as a virtual necklace stand. Samsung are in developing to integrate with Intel’s RealSense technology that can develop mirror display. Eg: Virtual fitting room made possible by the Intel technology’s 3D cameras and an automated library of stored perceptions. With it, customers are able to use the advanced mirror to see what clothing, jewelries or shoe look like on them before actual trying them on.

On other hand, Samsung plans to use its transparent OLEDs for interactive ads that will take advantage of Real Sense’s voice and gesture control capabilities. With these features it will enhance consumer-facing displays in car dealerships and other innovative signage applications in public information and transportation environments, as well as retail and hospitality/hotel locations.

Samsung claims that the Samsung Display’s Full HD Transparent OLED display planel has substantially higher color gamut, sharply increased transmittance and better clarity through a wider range of viewing angles as compare to conventional LCD alternative.
