About four years ago when Samsung introduced their first embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS) 2.0 that offers only 128GB  with 350MB/s and 150MB/s read/write speeds. Now Samsung Electronics announced that it has begun mass producing the industry’s first One-Terabyte (1TB) eUFS 2.1 and it will be used in their next-generation mobile phone. Hinting the Samsung Galaxy S10-series will get storage variant up to 1TB
.
“The 1TB eUFS is expected to play a critical role in bringing more notebook-like user experience to the next generation of mobile devices,” said Cheol Choi, executive vice president of Memory Sales & Marketing at Samsung Electronics. “What’s more, Samsung is committed to assuring the most reliable supply chain and adequate production quantities to support the timely launches of upcoming flagship smartphones in accelerating growth of the global mobile market.”

The 1TB eUFS 2.1 has read speed up to 1,000MB/s and random read speed up to 58,000 IOPS. That’s twice of the standard SATA SSD speeds or 10 times of a typical microSD card.
