[REVIEW] HUAWEI Band 6 – More Than Fitness Tracker

Read Time:1 Minute, 55 Second

HUAWEI Malaysia launched its latest HUAWEI Band wearable, the HUAWEI Band 6 last week. Malaysia is the first country to receive the new smartband. Thanks to HUAWEI Malaysia, we manage to get a review unit for a quick spin.

We did a short FastView video of the HUAWEI Band 6 where you can watch it here;

Design & Display

HUAWEI Band 6

The HUAWEI Band 6 a total revamp of the design and it wasn’t that fresh as it has the shadow of HUAWEI Watch Fit which we reviewed last year. It’s a good thing as it uses a high-quality material like aluminium body chassis and soft-touch yet lightweight strap. There’s a physical button on the right side that brings to the menu and home.

HUAWEI Band 6 Display

It has one of the biggest display offered from a smartband, a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with over 282ppi. The display is bright and brilliant. There are plenty of face watches where you can download from the HUAWEI Watch Face Store and you can even customize them with your favourite photo. The overall build is pretty solid and it’s a big leap of design incremental.

Heart-rate & SpO2 Monitoring

HUAWEI Band 6 Heart Rate SpO2

HUAWEI did include a lot of useful features such as 24/7 heart rate and SpO2 monitoring which improve health tracking accuracies with TruSleep 2.0 Sleep Tracking, TruRelax Stress Monitoring and even menstrual cycle tracking for women.

96 Workout Modes

Despite not having GPS built-in into the smartband, the HUAWEI Band 6 still can have outdoor runs/walks tracking by pairing it with your smartphone. There 96 workout modes and keep track of your heart rate, calories burning and more. All the data then stored and analysed in easy-to-read graphs. This allows you to understand and manage your fitness schedule.

Smart Notification

HUAWEI Band 6

The HUAWEI Band 6 does basic notification such as social media notification updates, view incoming calls and messages. Due to OS limitation, you can’t respond to messages or DM without taking out your phone. You still can get weather updates and control your music with the smartband.

Battery Life

I have this smartband for almost a week now and the battery still left 48%. It probably does what it advertised, 14-days of battery life with a single charge.

Verdict

The HUAWEI Band 6 is more than just a fitness and health tracker. It’s a fashionable wearable that can match any fitting for any occasion. There isn’t much competition out there that can offer similar features and built at this price range. Unless you are comparing with HONOR Band 6 which shared the same hardware but it’s not officially available here in Malaysia, it’s cheaper by 10-20%.

You can get the HUAWEI Band 6 for RM 219 from HUAWEI e Store:- https://shop.huawei.com/my/product/huawei-band-6/
