Apacer has recently announced it lightning dual flash drive storage solution for Apple iPhone, iPad and also iPod. I was fortunate enough to receive a review unit from Apacer.
The AH190 dual flash drive has a very compact design and received Apple MFI certified USB 3.1 generation 1 & lightning dual flash drive. It works seamlessly between iOS device, Mac PC, Windows PC and other compatible device without the need of iTunes.
Basically it works the same like Android OTG where the flash drive has a lightning port on one end and the other end is a standard USB port. This allows you to connect your Apple lightning port devices to an USB flash drive and then you can back up your media files.
This enabled media sharing at ease without the need of PC.
The media backup doesn’t works native like Android. Thus you are required to install Apacer iFileBridge app that can be found on Apple Store or it will prompt you to download when you connect the AH190 to your iPhone or iPad.
The app’s user interface is very clean and easy to understand. Files can be view and playback on the app itself seamlessly.
You can back up the media by category like Photos, Video, Music, Documents or back up the entire media on the device.
The supported media and formats are as per below;
• Photos – tiff, jpeg, jpg, png, gif, bmp
• Video – m4v, mp4, mov
• Audio – m4a, caf, aiff, asf, aac, mp3, wav
• Documents – doc, docx, pages, rtf, txt, ppt, pptx, xls, xlsx, numbers, key, html
Pros: Break the conventional ways of photos and video transfer without the need of iTunes. Comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage.
Cons: Using caps on the lightning and USB port is so 2000. The caps may get missing easily as it’s very small.
