Xiaomi has announced 2 new mid-range smartphone yesterday in China. The Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. Redmi Note-series is their best selling smartphone in the company and by just last year, the company has sold more than 15 million units globally in just 6 months.

The company put very high hope in this model with a new refreshed design and specs. The Note 8-series now features a gradient design and comes with a slightly more powerful processor. It also equipped with a quad-rear-camera system and sports’ world first 64-megapixels camera sensor on a smartphone.

The new 64-megapixels camera sensor that found on the Redmi Note 8 Pro is actually from Samsung, ISOCELL GW1 that will only be featured on the upcoming Realme smartphone. It was actually pixel binning of a 16-megapixels camera sensor with the size of 0.8 μm. Similar to what 48-megapixels SONY IMX586 that uses pixel binning technology.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is available in China starting 3rd September whereby the Note 8 will be available 17th September. Jain, Xiaomi India MD mentioned the Redmi Note 8-series will be coming to India in 8 weeks of time for certication and testing. Which mean, the Global version will likely be available in another 2 months or more.
