Just got the news that Jie Communication, the company that brings in realme devices to Malaysia has just passed SIRIM approval for a new smartphone by the PN RMX2030 which is the realme 5i that expected to launch in Vietnam very soon.

I’m sure some of you guys must be very confused with the realme 5-series, especially the recently launched realme 5s.

Let’s me break this down to you; realme 5s > realme 5 > realme 5i.

Basically the realme 5i is the lite version among all the realme 5. It equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 which is the same SoC with the realme 5 and realme 5s. It even packed with the same 5,000 mAh battery.

The realme 5i has the same camera rear setup with the realme 5; 12-megapixels main camera, 8-megapixels ultra-wide, 2-megapixels macro lens and 2-megapixels depth sensor. The only difference is the front camera, the realme 5i get an 8-megapixels where the realme 5 has 13-megapixels.

So where realme 5i will be positioned when it’s available? Since the realme 5 has 3GB + 64GB and 4GB +128GB configurations, the realme 5i will sit-in between with 4GB + 64GB configuration. Our guess, it will be priced in between the realme 5’s 3GB and 4GB variant which around RM 659 – RM 699 when it reached to Malaysia shore.
