Xiaomi has announced their yearly flagship, Mi 9 today in China. The Mi 9 is the first smartphone to packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, mated with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.

As teased before, the Mi 9 sporting 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

On the rear, Xiaomi uses a new glass with nano-holographic technology that creates a unique reflective finish. The glass is curved along its sides making pleasing to hold.

The Mi 9 equipped with triple rear camera setup, boasts with an impressive 48-megapixels (12-megapixels 4-in-1 binned pixels) f/1.75 aperture accompanied by a 12-megapixels 2x telephotos and a new 16-megapixels 117-degree ultra wide. The front “Waterdrop” notch houses a 20-megapixels selfie camera.

Wireless charging is present on the Mi9 supported up to 20W and it will be running on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box. Juicing the device is only 3,300 mAh which a little low for it standard.

Besides that, Xiaomi also introduced Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition which is similar to the Mi 8 Explorer Edition that features transparent glass panel that showcases the internal components (which is not real, purely aesthetic purposes)

Besides showing off fake internal beauty, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition get doubled up of the RAM and storage, 16GB and 256GB. On top of that, it also gets an improved camera lens with an f/1.47 aperture on the 48-megapixels sensor.

The Mi 9 is retailing at RMB 2,999 (about RM 1,816) and RMB 3,299 (RM 1,998) for the 64GB and 128GB respectively. The Mi 9 Transparent Edition is going for RMB 3,999 (around RM 2,422).

Xiaomi will be showcasing the Mi 9 series at Mobile World Congress 2019 next week prior to its global launch.
