Today vivo Malaysia announced their first 2018 flagship device, the vivo NEX. The interesting feature of this new phone is it doesn’t have a notch or a top bezel. Instead, vivo hide the selfie-camera with a motorized pop-up camera system and all other sensors. Similar to OPPO Find X but not exactly, the OPPO hide the entire cameras system rear and front camera, whereby the vivo only hide the 8-megapixel selfie camera.
With this kind of configuration and slight chin at the bottom, vivo NEX able to achieve a stunning 91.24% screen-to-body ratio
The earpiece was replaced with vivo’s glass vibrating “Screen Soundcasting Technology” which is similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX Cantilever Piezoelectric. It generates vibration of an audio algorithm that selectively amplifies voice signals with proper wavelength and send through the glass body.
Under this bright 6.59-inch OLED display is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
It also features in-display fingerprint scanning just like it recently launched vivo X21.
Camera wise setup is dual rear cameras with 12-megapixel plus 5-megapixel rear cameras and an 8-megapixel pop-up camera.
vivo NEX is packed with 4,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging via USB Type-C. It will be running on vivo’s latest FunTouch OS based Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
The vivo NEX will be made available starting 28th July 2018 nationwide and will carrying a price tag of RM 2,799
