Nintendo Announced Nintendo Switch Lite – More Affordable Handheld Console

Today Nintendo introduced a budget-friendly handheld console, Nintendo Switch Lite. It has a few missing features that the flagship Nintendo Switch, for an instant the Joy-Con is not removable thus it’s not playable by 2 players on a single device. It also can’t be connected to a bigger display like the Nintendo Switch.

The display is slightly smaller at 5.5-inch 1,280 x 720 HD resolution and powered by Nvidia Custom Tegra processor. It has 32GB onboard storage and supports microSD card, 3.5mm audio jack and charge via USB Type-C.

Other connectivity are 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.

Nintendo Switch Lite can play all Nintendo Switch software that supports handheld mode only. If a game supports Joy-Con function, some features will not be available and you can purchase the Joy-Con controllers to use the features.

The Nintendo Switch Lite comes in three bright colours; Yellow, Grey and Turquoise. It will be available in September 2019 at the price of US$ 199 (which is about MYR 823) No actual date when it will be offered into Malaysia market.
