[MWC 2016] SONY Unveils New Xperia X Series Smartphone

SONY introduced their new lineup Xperia X series smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2016. The new X series feature similar design and screen size but each variant is differ by SoC and functionality unlike the Xperia Z-series.

The new Xperia X-series consists of three models; Xperia XA, Xperia X and the Xperia X Performance.

SONY Xperia XA

The Xperia XA is the entry-level model powered by MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) and mated with 2GB of RAM and has 16GB of internal storage with dedicated microSD card slot. It sports a 5-inch 720p resolution display and feature aluminium frame.

It integrated with a 13 Megapixel rear camera and 5 Megapixel front facing camera. To keep the lights on, the Xperia XA packed with 2,300mAh battery.

SONY Xperia X & Xperia X Performance

Next up is the Xperia X, mid range model in the series. It features aluminium body and sports a 5-inch Full HD display and also fingerprint reader integrated into the power button like the Xperia Z. It powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor and mated with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage with dedicated microSD card slot.

As for the Xperia Performance, it souped up with a flagship SoC; the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. It paired with 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal storage with dedicated micro SD card slot. It also feature a 5-inch Full HD display and uses aluminium body frame.

Camera wise, both uses SONY newest 4th generation EXMOR sensor that come with 23 Megapixel rear camera and improved 13 Megapixel front facing camera.

The Xperia X smartphone packed with 2,620 mAh battery where the Xperia X Performance get 80 mAh more sitting at 2,700 mAh capacity.

All the new Xperia X-series comes with four colours including; White, Graphite Black, Lime Gold & Rose Gold. All will be running on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-box.
