Qualcomm unveiled a new 800-series SoC, the Snapdragon 870 that sit in between the Snapdragon 865 Plus and the top of the line Snapdragon 888.

Lenovo launched its first smartphone that powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 in China under its Motorola company, the Motorola Edge S. The price that they offered are quite competitive and could potentially cheaper than others 865 Plus powered smartphone out there.

The Motorola Edge S sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ resolution display with 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10 and 560 nit brightness. It features dual hole-punch front camera; 16-megapixels wide-angle and an 8-megapixels ultrawide.

There are three configurations featuring LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage technology; up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. Due to LCD display technology limitation, Lenovo mounts the fingerprint scanner on the side. It also features the latest connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi 6 and also Bluetooth 5.1.

Photography wise; 64-megapixels main camera, 16-megapixels ultrawide, 2-megapixels depth sensor and a 3D ToF camera.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000 mAh battery that charge via USB C with up to 20W.

The Motorola Edge S offered in two colour options; Emerald Blue and Crystal White which priced from RMB 1,999 (~RM 1,251) to RMB 2,799 (~RM 1,752)
