MIUI without UI: Presenting Mi A1 (Android One)

Today, Xiaomi announced its first Android device that runs on Pure Android Operating System, Mi A1 (Android One).

The Mi A1 was announced in New Delhi, India and will be marketed globally. Google in partnership with Xiaomi to bring great quality Android device with a software experience designed by Google.

Mi A1 features full metal unibody design with Corning Gorilla Glass on top of a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. Under the hood is a 14nm FinFET Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and paired with 4GB of RAM.

The Mi A1 will be receiving the latest Android 8.0 Oreo update by end of 2017 and expected to be the first Android device to get to taste the next Android P.

Xiaomi has nothing to ashamed to tell the world that their dual camera setup is similar to the Apple iPhone. 12-megapixel plus a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. Meaning it has one of the best dual camera setup smartphone.

The rear stereoscopic cameras have an intelligent learning algorithm that can take good artificial depth-of-field aka Bokeh portrait photos

Because it’s a Pure Android device, the Mi A1 get unlimited “High Quality” photo storage on the Google Photos app. The Mi A1 will be selling for Rs 14,999 which translated to around RM 997 thus I’m guessing the A1 will be selling for around RM 999 – RM 1,099.

Like I mentioned earlier, the Mi A1 will be available globally starting first in India and to other countries. A source saying the Malaysia will be receiving the A1 as early end-September 2017.
