Microsoft hold a launch event yesterday introduced it new flagship smartphone that runs on Windows 10 Mobile. The Microsoft Lumia 950 & 950 XL that replaced the one year old Microsoft Lumia 930
Both of the device shared almost identical hardware except the screen size and processor. Both of the device supported USB Type-C fast charging. It get a 20 megapixel PureView Carl Zeiss OIS lens camera and triple LED RGB natural flash. The new camera now does records in 4K and has dedicated shutter button like others Lumias. It get a 5 megapixel front facing camera for selfie photo taking & video calls.
The Lumia 950 XL is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and mated with 3GB of RAM. It sport a 5.7-inch AMOLED QHD (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) display and packed with a 3,340mAh battery to keep the lights on.
On the others hand, the Lumia 950 is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 and mated with 3GB of RAM. It has a smaller screen size of 5.2-inch AMOLED QHD (2,560 x 1,440 resolution) and packed with 3,000mAh battery.
Both of the Lumia get 32GB of internal storage and microSD card slot that can support up to 2TB. Microsoft Windows Hello were introduced on both device where it can use the front camera to login to phone by face recognition.
A new device introduced, Microsoft Display Dock that allows you to transform the Lumia into a PC with the application of Continuum. The user just need to connect the Lumia on the new dock where the dock connects with keyboard, mouse and monitor.
The Microsoft Display Dock has a HDMI, a display port and three USB ports. The Continuum allows Microsoft’s universal app to work perfectly on any scale of resolutions.
The Microsoft Lumia 950 & Lumia 950 XL will be available in US starting November and will be priced at US$ 549 and US$ 640 respectively. There are no price mentioned about the Microsoft Display Dock.
Will be expecting it to reach Malaysia’s shore in few months time.
