Today Meizu has announced the rumor Meizu MX5 Pro which now that name it Meizu PRO 5. This is a new premium flagship smartphone that can take up very close compete with Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

The PRO 5 has a 5.7-inch 2.5D Full HD AMOLED display in a unibody metal design like the Meizu MX5.

It powered with to date fastest SoC that found on the latest Samsung Galaxy (Note 5, S6, S6 edge & S6 edge+) the Samsung Exynos 7420 and mated with either 3GB or 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It also utilises Samsung’s UFS 2.0 that provide faster and power efficient storage. It has two variants available, which is the 3GB RAM paired with 32GB storage and the 4GB RAM get 64GB of strorage.

It has a dedicated audio chipset, ES9018K2M DAC and OPA1612 OP Amp that boasts Hi-Fi quality audio.

Camera wise, it get SONY’s IMX230, 21-megapixel camera with PDAF plus Laser Auto Focus assistance and dual-tone LED flash. As for the front camera, it has a 5-megapixel camera with f/2.0 lens.

To keep the lights on, the Meizu PRO 5 packed with a 3,050mAh battery and feature with its mCharge 2.0. With an optional 24W fast charger, it can be charged from 0-65% in just 30 minutes.

No more microUSB as it now comes with reversible USB Type-C that can be found on OnePlus Two, ZUK Z1 by Lenovo and recently launched Xiaomi Mi4c.

The home button on the PRO 5 work as a fingerprint scanner and Meizu claimed it to be quicker with recognition in 0.5 seconds when touched in any direction.

It supports dual 4G LTE SIM with dual standby. The second SIM slot accepts as microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.

It will be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned with FlymeOS 5.0/

The Meizu PRO 5 is priced starting at RMB 2,799 (about RM 1,900) for 3GB RAM/32GB storage and RMB 3,099 (about RM 2,110) for 4GB RAM/64GB storage.

The price may sound a bit steep for as compare to it previous flagship, Meizu position PRO 5 against with highend smartphone like Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with an amazing performance and able to score 77,768 points in AnTuTu benchmarks scoring.
