Samsung pushed out a “Force” OTA update to all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 owners in Malaysia few days ago. The update cannot be cancelled or reject once it downloaded. It limits the maximum battery charge to 60% to reduce the possibility of battery explosion while waiting for replacement “safe” unit take place.
For Malaysia, we are getting the replacement unit starting 29th September at the store that the owner make the Note 7 purchase.
With this “force” update, I’m strongly believe that those whom are not returning the fault Galaxy Note 7 after the exchange program ended, Samsung may take a step ahead to remotely kill/brick the Note 7 so the user would send back the unit for replacement.
