Leica Announces LEITZ Phone 1 – Leica First Smartphone

Leica has worked with many smartphone makers and for the first time, the company released their own smartphone with a huge 20-megapixels 1-inch camera sensor. It’s as big as the SONY ZV-1 compact camera. Leica called it LEITZ Phone 1.

The design does look resembling the HUAWEI Mate30 Pro especially the Oreo camera bump and curved side display. There are just two camera on this device, the 1-inch rear camera sensor and a 12.6-megapixels selfie shooter on the 6.6-inch OLED display with 240Hz refresh rate.

It’s quite a flagship packed device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor, 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage that can further expand via microSD card up to 1TB. It gets a 5,000 mAh battery.

The LEITZ Phone 1 even get a Leica camera cap for the rear camera like its other cameras. Currently, it’s only available in Japan through Softbank in Japan. No words will be available globally. As for pricing is concerned, the LEITZ Phone 1 is retail for 187.920 Yen which is around US$ 1,700 (~RM 7,032)
