Instagram today announced its rolling out the function for people to post photos and short videos (1-min) by using a desktop browser. Previously, this function is only limited to the mobile app or Instagram for desktop.

On top of that, Instagram also introduced another new feature “Collabs” which allow people to co-author both Feed posts and Reels. Users can invite another account to be a collaborator from the tagging screen on Instagram. If the other person accepts, both accounts will appear in the post or Reels header and content will be shared to both accounts.

These new functions will be made available globally starting tomorrow, 21st October 2021.
