HUAWEI just announced its latest nova-series addition, the HUAWEI nova 8.

It’s a mid-range device powered by a Kirin 820E processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The nova 8 is also the first HUAWEI device to get the latest EMUI 12 which is still based on Android 11 with a lot of HarmonyOS 2.0 UX. This part is a little confusing when we are expecting all the new HUAWEI devices will get OS updates to HarmonyOS instead fall back to the EMUI. Still, no Google Mobile Services instead it relies on their own HUAWEI Mobile Services. Apps download are through their own-grown HUAWEI AppGallery or Petal Search.

The nova 8 sports a curved 6.57-inch 90Hz OLED FHD+ resolution display and is backed with a 3,800 mAh battery. Supports HUAWEI 66W SuperCharge, a 15 minutes quick charge get up to 60% battery.
Photography-wise, it’s a quad rear camera setup’ 64-megapixels main camera, an 8-megapixels ultrawide, a 2-megapixels macro and a depth sensor. The front centre hole-punch houses a 32-megapixels f/2.0 camera.

The HUAWEI nova 8 is available now for RM 1,899 at HUAWEI Store nationwide as well as their online channels;
