Honor has officially introduced it latest flagship smartphone, Honor 8. As a sub-brand of Huawei, we do expect similar design and specification from Huawei, thus the new Honor 8 does has some identical hardware and specification like the new Huawei P9.
The new Honor 8 get Kirin 950 instead of the latest Kirin 955 that found on Huawei P9. It comes with 3 variant models, base model get a 3GB of RAM + 32GB of onboard storage, a step up is the 4GB of RAM + 32GB of onboard storage where the highest variant has 4GB of RAM + 64GB of onboard storage.
It feature a compact 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display and protected with 2.5D scratch-resistant glass. It supported dual SIM where the second SIM tray is a hybrid nano SIM and microSD card (expandable up to 128GB)
Honor 8 feature dual 12 megapixel f/2.2 cameras just like the Huawei P9 only omitted the Leica badge/certification. The front camera packed with an 8 megapixel f/2.4 camera with a large 1.4 micron pixel size sensor selfie camera.
On the rear you will find a 3D fingerprint reader like the P9 and also doubles as a customisable button for more actions.
The Honor 8 is packed with a 3,000 mAh capacity battery that support quick charging and charged through USB Type-C. It will be running on Huawei EMUI 4.1 on top of Android Marshmallow 6.0
There will be five color options and subject to differ variants.
The prices is way more affordable compare to the Huawei P9;
• 3GB of RAM + 32GB – RMB 1,999 (about RM 1,199)
• 4GB of RAM + 32GB – RMB 2,299 (about RM 1,369)
• 4GB of RAM + 64GB – RMB 2,499 (about RM 1,499)
The Honor 8 will be available in China on 17th July 2016 and do expect available out of China by August/September this year.
