New Chromecast (Second Generation)

The two year old Google Chromecast now has a successor. The second generation Chromecast now come with build-in HDMI cable which totally make sense whereby not all TVs would have enough space to plug in the Chromecast directly.

The new Chromecast is much colorful now and the HDMI cable can be magnetically snapped into the back of the Chromecast. It feature a more powerful dual-band WiFi 802.11ac connectivity that works together with an adaptive antenna system. Meaning the new Chromecast will be able to perform better.

Chromecast Audio

Google also introduced a new device, Chromecast Audio that work like  Chromecast just that it cast audio-only device. There are no need of pairing and be used with pretty much any music apps that supported Google Cast.

The device can be plugged into any audio system with 3.5mm auxiliary or line input.

The second generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio will be priced at USD 35 (about RM 157) each. An update of Chromecast app for Android will be rolling out today and iOS will be getting it next few weeks.
