Flip phone was a trend in the 90th where the Motorola StarTAC clamshell mobile phone introduced in 1996. Then it was follows by others smartphone pioneer brands like LG, Nokia, Samsung and etc.
The demand of flip phone reduced a lot and almost died off in some countries but in China, there were demands of this classic design. Samsung has announced their first flip Android smartphone, Samsung SM-G9298, Leader 8 just for the China market.
It sports dual 4.2-inch Super AMOLED 720p displays, inside and outside. Under the hood is last year flagship SoC, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and mated with 4GB of RAM. It also has 64GB of onboard storage with microSD card slot available for storage expansion.
Cameras wise is a 12 megapixel f/1.7 rear camera and a 5 megapixel f/1.9 front camera. Battery is a small 2,300 mAh battery that support Fast Charging and as well Wireless Charge.
It also comes with fingerprint scanner and heart-rate sensor located on the rear of the device. No price were announced yet and it’s only made available for China market.
