E-cigarette has become a trend nowadays and some of the vapers (e-cigarette smoker) would wonder whether they can bring along their e-cigarette if they need to take flight to travel?
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said the current International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) regulation do not allow e-cigarette to be checked in as baggage, but can be hand carried on board the aircarft. Sound to good to be true?
MAHB will be following the regulation allowing you to carry it on board but Malaysia Airports implemented an additional safety precaution whereby the passengers will be asked to detach the batteries from the e-cigarette and put in a proper storage.
This is due to an incident happened on last Saturday where the battery of an e-cigarette inside a bag placed on a passenger’s lap suddenly burst into flames just after the aircraft took off from Kota Kinabalu for the Kuala Lumpur International Aiport 2 (KLIA2)
