ASUS has finally announced its newest compact flagship smartphone, the ASUS Zenfone9.

It’s also the most powerful compact Android smartphone that you can own. Featuring a 5.9-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, up to 16GB LPDDR5 memory, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Packed with a bigger 4,300 mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.

Besides the feature-packed hardware in one tiny body, it is equipped with a unique 6-axis gimbal main camera, SONY IMX766 50-megapixels sensor coupled with a 12-megapixels ultrawide that does autofocus and works as a macro lens. The main camera is capable to shoot up to 8K @ 24fps.

Same as its predecessor, it still gets a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo dual speaker, and IP68 water-dust resistance. Supports DIRAC and Qualcomm aptX LL (Lossless) advanced audio.

ASUS even introduced Connex accessories that can attach magnetically to the back of the Zenfone9. The accessories include Smart Stand that is programmed to launch YouTube (reprogrammable to other apps) automatically when it is opened, Connex Card Holder, and Connex Case. There’s also Smart Backpack Mount that attaches to the should strap of your backpack and keeps the phone steady (thanks to the magnetic base) so you can use the Zenfone9 as a body action cam. It even has a retractable lanyard if you want to pull it out.

The starting price of the ASUS Zenfone9 base model (8GB/128GB) is €799 (~RM 3,624 and is offered in four color options; Starry Blue, Moonlight White, Midnight Black, and Sunset Red. It will be available in Europe, Hong Kong, and Taiwan first, followed by North America, Japan, Indonesia, and parts of South America. No words it will reach Malaysia anytime soon.
