ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED Monogram Logo

Adopted the new 2022’s new ASUS monogram logo and a very minimalist back cover. Available in two color options; Refined White and Ponder Blue which is the one that we have for this review.

The 16:10 13.3-inch display features NanoEdge offers an 89% screen-to-body ratio. The top bezel houses a 720p HD web camera with no mechanical privacy shutter but you still can disable it from the keyboard shortcut.

The Zenbook S 13 OLED has a 180° ErgoLift that not only lifts the keyboard up slightly but can also lay flat the display for easy sharing and collaboration.

Overall the laptop is lightweight and compact, which is easy to carry around or slot into the backpack.

Ports & Connectivity

Features three USB C 3.2 Gen 2 that supports up to 10Gbps transfer speed for you to connect to the external displays and Power Delivery. According to ASUS, the Zenbook S 13 OLED is USB 4.0 ready and it will be available through a BIOS update.

If you have any peripheral that requires USB A, inside the box it comes with a USB C to USB A dongle.

Keyboard & Touchpad

The new ASUS ErgoSense keyboard provides a comfortable typing experience with long 1.4mm key travels as well as 0.2mm dished keycaps that mould your finger shape. The NumberPad 2.0 that turned the trackpad into a numeric keypad is still present.

Keyboard, touchpad, and palm rest are treated with ASUS Antibacterial Guard, which has been scientifically proven to deliver 99% bacterial inhibition over a 24 hours period.

It may only sport a 60Hz refresh rate but has a fast 0.2ms response time that delivers better image and motion production.

Performance

Let’s address the elephant in the room, the new AMD Ryzen 6000 series processor. AMD has finally overhauled the long overdue integrated graphics card for its mobile processor. The new AMD Radeon 680M based on RDNA2 architectures can deliver twice the performance compared to the last-gen Radeon VEGA 8 iGPU.

The new iGPU can even play triple-A title games in Full HD beyond 40fps; eg: Forza Horizon 5, God of War, and many more.

Not forgetting, the AMD Ryzen 6800U paired with the fastest LPDDR5 6,400Mhz memory and blazing fast PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD.

Here are some synthetic performance test results:

How about productivity or content creation? You won’t be disappointed if you don’t mind working on a small OLED display. I can edit simple 4K videos with some color-grading and motion effects without any issue except for loud fan spinning when coming to CPU-demanding tasks.

Battery Life

The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED is a full-day battery life laptop with up to 19 hours with a single charge, according to ASUS. I can get about 8 to 9 hours of usage on casual use but even with heavy use, I can get away for 5 hours effortlessly.
