ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) announced the new ROG Phone 7 series gaming smartphone which consists of the ROG Phone 7 and straight up to the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, axed the Pro variant.
If you did follow on ROG Phone, aesthetically there isn’t a huge difference where the Ultimate features a second color display on the back, whereas ASUS called it ROG Vision. In contrast, the vanilla gets the ROG’s logo AniMatrix RGB.
On the rear is a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP SONY IMX766 primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP macro lens. The front shooter will be a 32MP selfie camera.
The main upgrade would be internal where the ROG Phone 7 series paired with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G mobile processor paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM with 8,533Mbps speeds and 512GB UFS 4.0 internal storage. It even features the yet mainstream Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be).
Sports the same 6.78-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate but boasts a brighter panel, up to 1,500 nits peak brightness. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Victus.
ASUS also introduced the new AeroActive Cooler 7 that not only improves the cooling but at the same time houses a powerful subwoofer to intensify the audio experience.
The ASUS ROG Phone 7 will come in two color options; Phantom Black and Storm White while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will only offered in Storm White. Malaysia market will get the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series on 10th May 2023.
