As the name suggests, ExpertBook is targeted at a specific group or niche market, specifically for managerial officers, executive and operation users. ASUS Malaysia sent us their latest business laptop under the ExpertBook B1-series, the B1 B1500C.

ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Design
Business laptops tend to look more formal and less compelling compared to bright colours and eye-catching consumer laptops. The ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C is a 15-inch laptop and uses aluminium alloy on the upper chassis. Plastic was used at the bottom with plenty of vents for airflow and two down-firing speakers tuned by Harman Kardon.
Being a business use laptop, the build quality and rigidity has to meet certain industry threshold. The Expert B1 B1500C laptop has passed the MIL-STD-810G US military standard tests, which withstand shock, drop, vibration, humidity, altitude and high/low temperatures.
The Ergolift innovation is present where it tilts the keyboard slightly higher for more ergo typing experience while improving the cooling performance.
While it isn’t a convertible, the ExpertBook B1 B1500C can open up to 180-degrees for fast collaboration if needed.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Keyboard & Security
For a 15.6-inch laptop, we are do expect a full keyboard with num keys. The 1.5mm travel keys are tactile and pretty responsive. It is a spill-resistant keyboard with a backlit.
In terms of security, it features a fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and a built-in camera privacy shutter.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Display
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C is equipped with a 15.6-inch NanoEdge display, offering a 90% screen-to-body ratio. It’s a Full HD IPS display panel with an anti-glare coating. It may only have 250 nits brightness, it’s copious to use in indoor without any problem.
It may not offers the best colour accuracy, the panel does provide great viewing angles and details. After all, high contrast is not the main priority for a business laptop.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Ports
The ExpertBook B1 B1500C has pretty much-needed ports for business use. On the left, there is a barrel charging port, USB C with supports of Power Delivery charging protocol (ThunderBolt 4 on selected country/configuration), VGA output, HDMI 2.0 and two USB 3.2 Gen 2.
While on the left, we get a microSD card reader, 3.5mm combo audio port, a USB 2.0, Gigabit LAN port and a Kensington lock.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Configuration & Performance
Business laptops are designed to customise the configuration, the ExpertBook B1 is no exception. Configurations from the Processor, RAM, storage and even graphics card.
ASUS offered the B1 B1500C with Intel 11th Gen Core i3-1115G4 all the way to Core i7-1165G7. RAM up to 48GB and storage up to 1TB NVMe SSD storage. On top of that, there’s a 2.5″ drive bay for secondary SSD. There’s even a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX330 graphics option if required.
The performance is adequate thanks to the herculean yet power-efficient Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX330.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – ASUS AI Noise-Cancelling
With the new norm of working remotely, video conferences for meetings and discussions have become common. ASUS has implemented the ASUS AI Noise-Cancelling, delivering the best experience regardless of you as a presenter or listener. The ASUS AI Noise-Cancelling is able to effectively filter out unwanted ambient noise and pick up human speech.
ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C – Battery
42WH battery does sound rather small for a 15.6-inch laptop. However, with ASUS Intelligent Performance Technology, it allows me to handles power and performance needs in any scenario. This laptop was able to provide me with a solid 8 hours of continuous usage, which was mostly on reporting and media consumption.

ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C Review
The ASUS ExpertBook B1 B1500C is an entry-level business laptop that companies would consider letting their executive or operation employees use. It is highly customizable with the latest Intel 11th Gen processor, Wi-Fi 6, TPM 2.0 and excellent aftersales service from ASUS Malaysia.
Personally, I have used a few business-oriented laptops during my tenure with my previous companies. Those laptops have serious durability and reliability which still work fine even after surpassed the warranty period.
