Good news to all proud owners of Android Wear smartwatch. Today Google has announced an update to its wearable OS, Android Wear.
First, always-on screen and always-on apps.
No tapping, twisting or shaking to bring up the watch display. It will stay visible in as long as you need them, instead of disappearing when you drop your arm. The screen will display in monochrome and will only display in full colour when you interactive with your wearable. This feature allows you to save on battery life.
Beside that, Android Wear supports watches with built-in WiFi. This allows users leave their phone behind (has data connection) and still get notifications, send messages and use all your favourite apps while in range of wireless network.
Simpler, faster and more smiley.
Apps and contact are now easy to reach by just a tap away from the watch face. Due to limited space on the watch face to have a keyboard, Google has added a feature to draw an emoji using finger which will be recognised, converted and confirmation to send.
These updates are coming to all seven Android Wear watches, starting with LG Watch Urbane.
