HUAWEI P40-series Launched. HUAWEI P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+

Today HUAWEI has officially announced its latest P-series smartphone, the HUAWEI P40-series. It consists of three variants; HUAWEI P40, HUAWEI P40 Pro and the latest addition in the line-up HUAWEI P40 Pro+

Let’s begin with the standard P40. It features a smaller display at 6.1-inch with a resolution of 2,360 x 1,080 and uses OLED display technology. It features a new generations in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the other hands, both the HUAWEI P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ received a larger 6.58-inch with higher resolution 2,640 x 1,200 display and as well as 90Hz refresh rate display

HUAWEI P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ are the first smartphones that use a quad-curved flex OLED display. Meaning you will get a much higher screen-to-body-ratio with minimum side bezels.

The trio will be powered by HUAWEI Kirin 990 5G SoC that found on the HUAWEI Mate30 Pro 5G with the configuration of 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB onboard storage.

Camera department wise, the P40 features Triple camera setup, the P40 Pro a Quad-camera setup and the P40 Pro+ gets Penta-camera setup.

50-megapixels RYYB f/1.9 aperture lens wide-angle, a 16-megapixels ultra-wide and an 8-megapixels 3x optical zoom lens alongside with Colour Temperature Sensor

The HUAWEI P40 Pro features the same 50-megapixels Ultra Vision Wide main sensor and features OIS. It has a 12-megapixels 5x optical zoom lens, as well as 40-megapixels ultra-wide-cine lens that features on the HUAWEI Mate30 Pro last year. Besides that, it also gets a 3D ToF camera and Colour Temperature Sensor.

As for the HUAWEI P40 Pro+, it features a 10x Periscope Optical Telephotos that capable to shoot up to 100x digital zoom where the company claimed it can do better than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The front camera is a dual-hole punch camera that houses a 32-megapixels A.I. camera and the P40 get an IR camera along with it whereas the P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ features autofocus as well as depth camera.

The HUAWEI P40 is packed with 3,800 mAh battery and only supports 22.5W SuperCharge and no Wireless Charging supported. Whereby the HUAWEI P40 Pro and P40 Pro+ received a 4,200 mAh battery and support HUAWEI 40W SuperCharge. The P40 Pro supports 27W Wireless SuperCharge and the P40 Pro+ supports 40W Wireless SuperCharge. Reverse charging is still present on both of the device.

HUAWEI is running on their latest EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 and still, HUAWEI didn’t receive any blessing from Google, thus they will continue to use HMS and AppGallery to download the application.

During the launch, HUAWEI also introduced their own A.I. Assistant, Celia. This gonna be the answer of Google Assistant where it will be activated with “Hey Celia” for an assistant.

  • HUAWEI P40 Pro 8GB of RAM + 256GB Storage – € 999 (~MYR 4,807)
  • HUAWEI P40 Pro+ 8GB of RAM + 512GB Storage – € 1,399 (~MYR 6,727)

The HUAWEI P40 and P40 Pro that comes in 5 colours (Black, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, Silver Frost & Gold Blush) are expected to be available starting 7th April 2020 whereby the HUAWEI P40 Pro+ (Ceramic Black & Ceramic White) will only be available in June 2020.
