After reviewed the Toshiba Portege Z20t on my previous post. Here I found 5 advantages of Toshiba Portege Z20t over to it’s rival. Here I’ll be comparing these business-focus notebook; the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Apple Macbook Air.
Below are the brief tech specification of the three ultra thin notebook:
Connectivity
Toshiba Portege Z20t has the most complete ports without the hassle of bring add-on dongle and most of the ports are full sized even in such think platform; Eg; VGA port (the most common output-display port used on projector), full sized HDMI, Gigabit LAN, 2x USB 3.0.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Macbook Air has only 1 USB and the rest of the connectivity required add-on dongle.
Battery Life
Battery life are very crucial for a business person whom always on the go. The Surface Pro 3 has battery life up-to 9 hours whereby the Macbook Air can go up-to 12 hours.
The Portege Z20t has battery on the tablet itself and also the keyboard dock. The tablet itself can have up-to 9 hours and with keyboard dock it can go impressively 17 hours. Thanks to it battery saving Intel Core M which are not only battery saving and as well deliver outstanding performance.
Keyboard
Not only the Macbook Air has backlit keyboard, the Portege Z20t has full sized backlit keyboard and also central Accupoint trackpoint which is very convenience to move the mouse cursor while your hand still on the keyboard.
The backlit keyboard is quite handy when we want to use the notebook at somewhere with low light environment. As mentioned early, this is a notebook for mobile business that may use the notebook anywhere and any places.

You may save money and time if you required to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro; there may be a possibility the hardware are not supported the downgrade.
Display, Touch Screen & Pens
The Macbook Air are not touch screen enable only the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the Toshiba Portege Z20t has touch screen capability.
Z20t is used 16:9, 12.5-inch IPS anti-glare display which suitable for all kind of lighting environments and the coating allows it to have more natural handwriting experience. It also paired with advanced Wacom digitizer pen that able to recognize pressure applied on the screen to provide much superior handwriting.
Not only that, it also comes with one simple stylus integrated into the tablet’s body. This you would lost your pen.
