HONOR has officially launched its latest flagship foldable, the Magic V5, in China. Skipping the number four and jumping straight from the Magic V3 to the V5. This new device sets a new benchmark for thinness in foldable smartphones, measuring just 8.8mm when folded and 4.1mm when unfolded, making it the thinnest book-style foldable on the market. It even outpaces the OPPO Find N5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in slimness.

Weighing 217g, the Magic V5 is also IP58 | IP59 rated, offering improved dust and water resistance over its predecessor. It features a 7.95-inch inner LTPO OLED display (120Hz, 2532×2172, 5,000 nits) and a 6.43-inch cover display with similar specs.

Under the hood, it’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite Edition”, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The camera setup includes a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Each screen also hosts a 20MP selfie camera.

A 6,100mAh battery fuels the device, with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
In China, the Magic V5 is available in three configurations:
- 12GB+256GB – RMB 8,999 (~RM 5,302)
- 16GB+512GB – RMB 9,999 (~RM 5,892)
- 16GB+1TB – RMB 10,999 (~RM 6,480)
Color options include Dawn Gold, Black, Reddish Brown, Ivory White, and Black.

Though a global launch hasn’t been confirmed, the Magic V5 is expected to arrive in Malaysia soon to compete with OPPO and Samsung’s upcoming foldables.
