ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced a new generation of handheld gaming devices: the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, developed in collaboration with Xbox. These devices are built from the ground up to deliver enhanced ergonomics, improved performance, and a seamless Xbox-first experience, all powered by Windows 11.

Designed with gamers in mind, both handhelds feature redesigned grips for all-day comfort, inspired by Xbox controller ergonomics. The Ally X model also adds impulse triggers for greater immersion, further blurring the line between console and handheld.

Under the hood, the ROG Xbox Ally features the power-efficient AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor, while the ROG Xbox Ally X steps up with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor, capable of handling AAA titles with ease. These chips also support AMD’s latest technologies, such as FSR, RSR, and Fluid Motion Frames for improved graphics and performance. The Ally X additionally includes an NPU, preparing it for future AI-driven gaming features.

The software has also seen a major upgrade. Co-developed with Xbox, the handhelds boot into a full-screen Xbox experience layered over Windows 11, offering easy navigation, customizable widgets, and full compatibility with both Xbox Game Pass and PC game libraries.

Launching holiday 2025, the ROG Xbox Ally series will be available in over 30 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Japan, and across Europe and Asia. For more details and to sign up for pre-order alerts, visit rog.asus.com/content/rog-xbox-ally.
