
At the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. unveiled its 2025 lineup of Snapdragon G Series Gaming Platforms, designed to enhance handheld gaming experiences for a wide range of players. The new portfolio includes the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, Snapdragon G2 Gen 2, and Snapdragon G1 Gen 2, each optimized to deliver top-tier portable gaming performance.

The Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 leads the pack, offering support for Lumen, Unreal Engine 5’s fully dynamic global illumination and reflections system, exclusive to Android handheld gaming devices. It also boasts 30% faster CPU performance and 28% better graphics capabilities than its predecessor, alongside improved power optimization and energy efficiency. With Wi-Fi 7 support, latency is reduced, and bandwidth is boosted for a smoother gaming experience.
The Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 is designed for both gaming and cloud gaming at 144FPS, offering a significant performance boost with 2.3x faster CPU speeds and 3.8x improved GPU performance compared to the Snapdragon G2 Gen 1. Wi-Fi 7 further enhances connectivity, ensuring faster, more stable connections.
Meanwhile, the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 is built to cater to a wider audience, supporting cloud gaming with up to 1080p at 120 FPS. This platform sees an 80% increase in CPU performance and a 25% faster GPU, delivering smooth gameplay for casual and dedicated gamers alike.
Micah Knapp, Senior Director of Product Management at Qualcomm, highlighted that these next-gen platforms will revolutionize handheld gaming with advanced performance and immersive experiences. Devices powered by the Snapdragon G Series will begin rolling out this quarter, giving manufacturers and developers the tools to create innovative gaming solutions.
