Samsung has announced that its latest flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, will feature Corning Gorilla Armor 2, the world’s first scratch-resistant, anti-reflective glass ceramic cover material for mobile devices. This technology enhances the durability and clarity of smartphone displays, setting a new standard in mobile innovation.
The collaboration between Samsung and Corning highlights their commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology. Kwangjin Bae, EVP and Head of the Mechanical R&D Team at Samsung Electronics, remarked, “The Galaxy S25 Ultra represents significant progress in providing our users with the most resilient mobile experience yet.”
Compared to its predecessor, Gorilla Armor 2 offers superior durability, surviving drops of up to 2.2 meters on rough surfaces like concrete in Corning lab tests. It also provides four times the scratch resistance of competing lithium-aluminosilicate cover glasses, ensuring long-lasting clarity. Its anti-reflective properties further enhance display contrast in various lighting conditions, improving the overall user experience.
Corning’s Vice President, David Velasquez, added, “With Gorilla Armor 2, we offer consumers an unparalleled user experience with the first durable, optically advanced glass ceramic cover material ever used on a Galaxy device.”
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is available for pre-order from now to 13th February 2025. Customers can enjoy exclusive offers worth up to RM1,600, including a double storage upgrade, discounts of up to RM400 with CIMB bank cards, and e-vouchers worth up to RM600.
